Unmanned Electric Locomotive Control System Completed Factory Acceptance Test In Dongguashan Copper Mine

On March 6, ENFI completed the last test on the control system for unmanned electric locomotive transportation popularization and application project in Dongguashan Copper Mine of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd., and made the control system ready for commercialization.

Unmanned electric locomotive transportation system, put forward by Yu Runcang, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the senior consultant and expert of ENFI, was developed jointly by ENFI and Dongguashan Copper Mine of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd. In 2010, the technology stepped into development and implementation stage, and a commercial test was carried out in Dongguashan Copper Mine. After nearly three years of tense work and  overcoming  a number of technical problems, the system was put into trial operation in the level -875 m of Dongguashan Copper Mine in May 2012. It passed the acceptance organized by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd., and was  put into commercial production in August the same year. The technology fills a blank of science and technology in China and even in Asia.

The unmanned electric locomotive transportation system for underground mine consists of intelligent unmanned variable-frequency electric locomotive, roadway mobile wireless communication system, automatic dispatching of electric locomotive, protection and monitoring system and electric locomotive transportation power supply control system . The electric locomotive traction train achieves remote ore loading, automatic operation and ore unloading. Its operating status is displayed in dispatching room in real time via wireless communication, and it can be controlled through remote real-time dispatching if necessary, thus is very convenient for operation. The technology can satisfy the need of simultaneous transportation of several locomotive trains. Take the actual production of Dongguashan Copper Mine for example, application of the technology contributes to the reduction of the number of workers from 40 to 8 in transportation system, significantly improving the transportation efficiency and reducing the cost of production.
